Das Rauchergesetz in Dubai wird nun an Europäische Standards angepasst.
Seit 15. Jänner gilt nun folgendes (Anti-)Rauchergesetz:

The regulations apply to all motels, hotels, resorts, dormitories and furnished apartments.

Smoking will still be permitted in a bar or nightclub.

Restaurants will need to have designated smoking areas if they want to allow patrons to smoke.

These areas must be a dedicated indoor area that is totally isolated from all non-smoking areas by floor to roof walls.

Smoking rooms must be fitted with a self-closing door that is equipped with an alarm that will sound should the door remain open for more than 60 seconds. They must also have their own entirely separate air-conditioning system.

The smoking room must be depressurised compared to the non-smoking areas by a difference of -5 to -7 Pascals to ensure that the smoke-filled air doesn’t escape when the door is open.

No one under 20 is allowed in the smoking sections.

Smoking is permitted on outdoor terraces, but the smoking area must be at least three feet away from the non-smoking section.

Shisha cafés must also have a designated indoor smoking area that is depressurized with an alarmed door.

Shisha cafés are allowed to permit smoking directly outside their properties.
